Terms of Service – Smith Plywoods Ltd.
1. General Terms
By purchasing products or services from Smith Plywoods Ltd., the customer agrees to the following terms and conditions. These terms are intended to ensure clarity, safety, and efficiency in all transactions, including product supply, delivery, and custom-cutting services.
2. Delivery Policy
2.1 Service Area
Smith Plywoods Ltd. provides delivery services primarily between Vancouver and Chilliwack, including Maple Ridge, BC and surrounding areas across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. Delivery outside this region may be arranged upon request and is subject to availability and additional charges.
2.2 Delivery Fees
Local deliveries within the Maple Ridge area start at a base rate of $40. Final delivery charges may vary depending on load weight, delivery distance, site accessibility, and unloading time required.
2.3 Delivery Capacity and Equipment
Deliveries are completed using a 14-foot flat deck truck with a maximum capacity of approximately 10,000 lbs (typically up to three lifts). The delivery vehicle is not equipped with a crane (hiab) or tilt-deck functionality.
2.4 Unloading Requirements
Customers are responsible for ensuring appropriate unloading conditions at the delivery site. For large orders exceeding half a lift, customers are expected to provide suitable equipment such as a forklift.
If no unloading equipment is available, Smith Plywoods Ltd. may assist with manual unloading at its discretion. Additional charges will apply based on the time and labour required.
2.5 Site Conditions and Access
Customers must ensure that delivery locations are accessible, safe, and suitable for unloading. Smith Plywoods Ltd. reserves the right to refuse or modify delivery if site conditions present safety risks or logistical constraints.
2.6 Delivery Timing
Delivery schedules are estimates and may vary due to traffic, weather, or operational conditions. Smith Plywoods Ltd. will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed timelines, but does not guarantee exact delivery times.
3. Custom Cutting Services
3.1 Service Scope
Smith Plywoods Ltd. offers custom cutting services to help customers prepare materials for transport or project use. This includes simple cuts as well as more complex cutting requests, subject to equipment capabilities.
3.2 Advance Notice for Larger Orders
Orders requiring more than approximately 30 minutes of cutting time must be arranged in advance. Customers are encouraged to contact the team prior to arrival to receive a quote and estimated completion time.
3.3 Equipment Limitations
Custom cutting services are subject to the following limitations:

Maximum material thickness: 3/4 inch

Maximum sheet size: 5 feet by 10 feet
Materials exceeding these limits will not be processed.
3.4 Weekend Cutting Policy
Custom cutting services are not available on Saturdays. Customers requiring multiple cuts are encouraged to arrange service in advance for weekday preparation and, if necessary, weekend pickup.
4. Cutting Accuracy and Liability
4.1 Measurement Responsibility
Customers are responsible for providing accurate measurements and specifications for all cutting requests. Smith Plywoods Ltd. will execute cuts based on the information provided.
4.2 Tolerance and Variations
All cuts are performed using standard shop equipment and are subject to reasonable tolerances. Minor variations may occur and are considered acceptable within industry standards.
4.3 Material Responsibility
Once materials have been cut according to the customer’s specifications, they are considered final sale. Smith Plywoods Ltd. is not responsible for errors resulting from incorrect measurements or instructions provided by the customer.
4.4 Suitability of Use
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the requested cuts and materials are appropriate for their intended application. Smith Plywoods Ltd. does not assume liability for project outcomes related to material selection or cutting specifications.
5. Limitation of Liability
Smith Plywoods Ltd. shall not be held liable for delays, damages, or losses resulting from factors beyond its control, including but not limited to site conditions, weather, transportation issues, or improper handling after delivery.
6. Acceptance of Terms
By placing an order, requesting delivery, or using custom cutting services, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these Terms of Service.
